Being human is a messy, intricate, and beautiful journey. Through my own therapeutic journey, I learned to embrace this complexity and discovered that what I once thought was “wrong” with me was simply human. Now, as a therapist, I help guide others in their healing journey and create that same space for them — a space where you feel seen, heard, and deeply understood.
I am trauma-informed, queer-affirmative, and neurodivergent-affirming therapist. My approach is relational and compassionate, shaped by honoring identity and individuality, and grounded in both lived experience and professional expertise.
Being trauma-informed, I will go at your pace and ensure you feel comfortable before diving deeper into the hard stuff. I’m also committed to continuous learning and professional growth. Whether it’s through specialized training, reading, or reflecting on my own journey, I believe that staying curious and open is essential to providing the best care. (Scroll further down for other approaches and focus areas)
My clients are often kind, thoughtful individuals who value meaningful work and deep connection. They’re seeking the same compassion they so easily give to others. They are often:
- ‘Good girls’ or eldest daughters who have given so much to people and things that they struggle to know who they are without this identity (aka the people-pleasers)
- Adult children of emotionally immature parents who are trying to find that balance between reparenting themselves, adulting, and establishing what kind of relationship they want to have with their parents (it’s extra tough when going low/no contact is necessary!)
- Folks who have returned to Malaysia after extended periods of time abroad and are struggling to navigate their feelings that come with cross-country transitions
- Expats (especially expat moms) who are trying to find their footing in a new country where they may not know anyone and need extra support
- Newbie therapists trying to work through their own stuff so that it doesn’t bleed into their work (good on you!)
- Folks who have just come out of a relationship and are trying to figure out where to go from here while moving through the heartache
- Queer/LGBTQ+ folks looking for a space where they can just be (I see you)
- Folks who have been to therapy, read a lot of self-help and/or logically know what to do but find themselves stuck in the same patterns or clueless how to actually shift from intellectualizing to feeling
If this sounds like you, know that I’ll meet you where you are, offering a steady, encouraging presence to help you navigate the twists and turns of your healing journey, while also holding space for the moments of joy, growth, and discovery along the way.
I might also be the therapist for you if:
- Want a space that honors your pace with no pressure to ‘get over it’ or ‘move on’
- Are open to building safety and trust, one step at a time
- Value a therapeutic relationship where you’re seen and heard as a whole person
- Are curious about how your past may be showing up in the present
- Are willing to show up with some consistency (even when it’s hard)
- Are open to exploring your emotions, not just your thoughts
Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about doing meaningful work to understand yourself, cultivate acceptance, and process the past. Like tending to a garden, we’ll learn the needs of every plant (your needs), uproot old and wilting patches (beliefs that don’t belong anymore), plant and cultivate new seeds (you get to decide), decide who gets to visit our garden (boundaries!), enjoy the fruits of our labor (there will be so many), and at times let the seasons do their thing. Every person’s “garden” is unique, and I’ll help you come home to it.
Outside the therapy room, you’ll often find me exploring easy hiking trails, enjoying casual PC gaming sessions, or diving into a good book. I have a deep love for writing and reading, I also dabble in arts and crafts whenever inspiration strikes, and I enjoy the occasional adventure through travel. And in case you’re wondering, I’m both a cat and dog person.
