“I find in this generation, or even in the ones before, young women always have something about them that they feel inferior or less about. Curves, skin tone, face, nose, flabs, cellulite, freckles, old scars, and so many other physical characteristics that we wish were different. Then I look at women in their late 50’s and 60’s reminiscing upon their youth, wishing for their bodies to return just the way it was. Those extra lumps, freckles and scars would seem so small to them as they remember themselves in the dresses that they don’t or can’t wear anymore. They would wish that they had seen in the mirror then, what they see only in old photos now. It got me thinking, why is it so easy to point out our own flaws? Why do we only realise that we’re beautiful when we’ve aged past it? One day, it will all be different. So why let it pass by when you can do a little more for yourself and appreciate your body in the moment.”
Wear that skirt, put on that eyeliner, eat that briyani, pay no attention to the people who point out your flaws and be PROUD of your body. Because.”
“You. Are. Beautiful. And. You. Are. Young.”
